Replacing a central vacuum or installing a new one?
Installing a new central vacuum system requires a few more steps compared to replacing an existing one. You must first install a piping system if you do not already have one. This project can lead to a number of challenges if done all by yourself, which is why Drainvac recommends that you hire a professional to handle this task.
Electrical panel
It is important to provide an electrical circuit dedicated solely to the device; and another circuit for each booster head (for the commercial units). In other words, this means that the electrical outlet in which your central vacuum will be connected to must be dedicated only to this device and it must be the only outlet connected to the circuit breaker of your electrical panel. In addition, know that the circuit breaker should have an amperage adapted to your device. In North America, the voltage being usually 120V, it requires a greater amperage compared to an equivalent central vacuum in Europe for example. Walls made of drywall or concrete?

In some parts of the world, the houses' walls are made of drywall, which greatly facilitates the installation of the piping for your central vacuum. But that can be done with concrete walls as well. If you do the installation yourself, do not hesitate to contact your dealer/distributor or a Drainvac expert who will be happy to advise you.

Need to vacuum water or not?
