The cyclonic suction : you may have met this term many times when searching for a central vacuum without really knowing its real meaning. Here is a brief summary of this technology as well as the benefits of purchasing a cyclonic action central vacuum.

Cyclonic suction

Cyclonic suction is a concept created by James Dyson in the 80s. Due to his dissatisfaction of his vacuum's suction power, Dyson was inspired by the cyclonic action from which he had noticed in the wood-works, oil-works and baking industries, to develop his own cyclonic action vacuum.

The cyclonic effect separates materials of different density. In the vacuum's case, it is the air's high speed formed in a conical shape that creates a very fast whirlwind, going from the largest part of the cone to the narrowest. The air rises from the centre while the small particles of dust falls down. The use of a dust bag is then obsolete. At Drainvac, the Cyclonik series, designed in the 80s, uses this effect while combining the ability to vacuum liquids of the Automatik series. As a result, this central vacuum is extremely versatile and constantly powerful.

Central vacuum with a bag

Maintenance-wise, using a dust bag has its benefits. With a bag, it is easier to get rid of all the dirt (unless you own an Automatik) : the only thing to do is to throw the bag once it is full and that's all there is to it. Furthermore, given that all the dirt is in the bag, the central vacuum requires minimum cleaning. Drainvac offers several central vacuums that work well with a bag, such as the Pro, S1000 and Generation 2 series.

Central vacuum without a bag

A central vacuum that does not use a bag, has other perks just as attractive. First, the cyclonic suction assures a constant suction power while preventing the motor from overworking. Also, saving on dust bags is significant and eco-friendly!

In short, after knowing this information, all is left is to decide whether you prefer using a bag or not. Be assured that, no matter your choice, you will be extremely satisfied by the performance of your central vacuum.
